Jesuits Legacy
Developed the visual campaign and special publication series for Brotéria’s 120-year milestone. Navigated a century of archival material to create a contemporary identity honoring the Jesuit journal’s legacy and its new cultural house. The project spanned from large-scale anniversary issues to tactile, commemorative mailing ephemera. Founded by the Jesuits in the early 20th century in Portugal’s Beira Baixa region, Brotéria began as a scientific journal dedicated to botany, zoology and genetics. Over time, it expanded its scope and, in 1925, became a key publication in Christianity and Culture.
Today, more than 120 years later, Brotéria is a multidisciplinary cultural project based in Lisbon’s Bairro Alto, fostering rigorous and thoughtful reflection on the contemporary world across literature, politics, art, history, philosophy, religion and bioethics.
